My paintings are built to be mutable: layered, allusive, and alive to interpretation. I want each work to function as an object of contemplation and curiosity: complex enough to reward sustained looking, open enough to shift with every encounter. Like the observer in quantum physics whose attention changes the behavior of particles, I believe the viewer completes the painting.
